As seventh-generation doctors,weestablished Alpha Chandigarh Hospital in a suburban and rapidly developing area of Punjab, located in the Nagar Panchayat of Gharuan, adjacent to Chandigarh University on National Highway 5.
We aim to provide world-class healthcare services .Our rich pedigree of doctoral experience provides the drive to continually improve, innovate, and excel in healthcare. Dr. Sushila Nayyar was a second-generation physicianwho studied atJohns Hopkins School of Public Health.As a lifelong follower of Mahatma Gandhi and his personal physician, she founded Kasturba Medical College (MGIMS Wardha[RA2] ), the first rural Medical College and hospital in India, along with other family members who were doctors.Her father was the Civil Surgeon in erstwhile Punjab. In the third generation, Dr. Baldev Sahay Passi was a renowned doctor from [RA3] Amritsar. In the fifth generation,[RA4] Dr.K.L. Passi was the first Post Graduate in Ophthalmology from PGIMER, Chandigarh. Sixth-generation Dr. Anil Duggal was the personal physician to Sardar Beant Singh, the erstwhile Chief Minister of Punjab.In 1986, Dr. Pratima Duggal Sood established Dr. Duggal’s Dental Care Clinic, and joined by her husband, Professor Sunandan Sood, in 2017 after retirement from GMCH Chandigarh to the new clinic centre in Sector 32, Chandigarh.Our legacy has culminated in the founding of Alpha Chandigarh Hospital on February 5, 2023. Dr. Siddharth Duggal Sood, CEO, and Dr. Shailja Duggal, MS, have embraced the mantle of taking Alpha Chandigarh Hospital to greater heights.

Dr. Siddharth Duggal Sood,MS Ophthalmology, DNB, MNAMS, FICO (UK), FAICO (Refractive Surgery) isco-partner and CEO of the hospital. Inspired by his family’s rich background in helping the community with skills rooted in healthcare, he dreamt of establishing a hospital since an early age and has trained under the world-renowned Dr. Sri Ganesh in Bangalore.
Dr. Shailja Talwar Duggal, MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology from GGSMCH, Faridkot, is the Medical Superintendent at Alpha. She has served the people of Punjab through PCMS and is a Laparoscopic surgeon adept at performing multiple surgeries.
Our Name and Logo
